Dr. Bill Redmond

Dr. Bill Redmond has big shoes to fill. But he's used to that.

Last year, his wife, Dr. Erini Redmond, dazzled the crowd and walked away with the "Dance Champion" title. Minutes after she left the floor he threw his hat in the ring, hoping to join this year's cast.

This self-described high school wallflower danced with his wife for the first time at their wedding, to Marc Cohn's "True Companion." "I don't think my feet every really touched the floor. No, I wasn't stepping on her toes the whole time-just once or twice-but we really did float around the room." She's been inspiring him every since-on and off the dance floor.

Bill has also been inspired by the need to support SMMC in its efforts to expand cardiac care on the San Clemente campus. "I have a friend who's traveling out of our community now for cardiac treatment—there's no reason we can't rival other area hospitals in terms of technology and care." He sees that challenge as resting, in part, with members of the community, and he's excited to be part of that "new beat."

Like Erini, Bill cites his sons, John and William as a source of both motivation and joy in his life.

Oh, and the other big shoes? His dad, Dr. Ron Redmond, founded the Redmond Orthodontics practice that he and his brother, John, now run in 3 locations around Orange County. His long service to community causes has inspired his sons to carry on that tradition as well.
